How the Calypso Headpiece is made | Timelapse
One of the things I’m most proud of in my business is that everything is handmade in the UK. I’ve spoken a lot about how my pieces are made so people who’ve been following me for a while will know that each and every piece is made by a team of skilled artisans and not in a factory. I’m a real sticker for quality and this allows me to ensure I’m giving each woman an exquisite piece they will love to wear, whether on their wedding day or any other day they fancy! (I go into the design and making process in depth in this article.)
The Calypso is one of my most popular pieces and it’s also one of the most complex. Over fifty separate pieces make up this gorgeous headpiece so it takes a lot of time and work to create, yet the end result is worth every minute! Check out the video below of how this piece is made up from scratch. After this long process is complete, it then gets plated in 18ct pale gold or silver then is stone set for the final touch. Hope you enjoy this look behind the scenes of Tilly Thomas Lux.
